Trader Joe’s Pacific Flounder with Crab Meat Stuffing
Tender white fish, draped over a scoop of crab meat stuffing… ahh what could be better? The fact that all you had to do was thaw and heat this delicious main dish? YES! Thanks to Trader Joe’s.
We have purchased this tasty main course fish for many years now. They are one of those “sure thing” items that we turn to when we are having VIP Company or a special celebration and want to make something extra special. (birthday/ anniversary/ promotion etc…) Good for beginner cooks too!
They would be perfect for date night as well.
We like many things about Trader Joe’s Pacific Flounder with Crab Meat Stuffing especially:
1. They are sold individually (you can buy just what you need)
2. They thaw in a bowl of cool water quickly
3. They heat in under 30 minutes
4. They look good
5. They taste FANTASTIC!
Another cool thing? They hardly take any planning. You can just take them from the freezer and thaw them in a bowl of cool water about 30 or so minutes before you want to bake. Then heat the oven and remove the fish from the packaging and place on a foil lined pan (spray foil with no-stick spray or spread lightly with oil).
Cover with more foil and bake (exact time is on the package, I tossed my package before posting! Grrrrrr).
While the fish is cooking, I usually heat or cook some vegetables and rice for the meal. We love to serve this fish with Trader Joe’s Bean So Green- the garlic butter sauce is just fantastic with the crab meat stuffing!
By serving Trader Joe’s Pacific Flounder with Crab Meat Stuffing, you can spend some extra time on the vegetables and rice, OR keep the meal simple and then spend your energy on lighting the candles in the dining room….
We hope you get a chance to try this product soon!

This is one of my favorites! Very good!
I am so glad to find others who love theses stuffed flounder! What do you serve them with?
Cheers!
Kris
This flounder is delicious, and you can tell your hubby or boyfriend that you’ve been slaving all day making the crab and everything to stuff it, HA! 🙂 It doesn’t take frozen at all, enjoy! bon apetit!
This is one of my absolute favorite trader joes’ products.
Except here’s how to be even MORE lazy.
Instead of cooking the rice and vegetables separately, i just get the trader joes’ heat and serve frozen rice and vegetables (i like the ones with the light garlic sauce type things) and layer them in the baking pan.
rice first, place fish directly on top of rice, then arrange vegetables on top of rice around the fish, cover, stick it in the oven, set the timer and go goof off. dinner. one pan. no fuss.
or sometimes i skip the rice and just do a bag of their veggies and toss in a bag of artichoke hearts too.
oh and if you top the fish with their sweet thai chilli sauce it’s amazing
😀
WOW! what a great idea.. I love it when dinner happens like that… quick and easy! Cheers! Kris
Do you still carry this in Chicago or Indinanpolis,in?
Do you have this item in your Chicago & Indianapolis,in locations?
I am currently located in Kansas City…. so do not know if these are in the other locations…. I suggest calling the store closest to you and asking – I bet they can help you out. Cheers! Kris
@karen yep, chicago carries this item. I just picked up a couple of packets this weekend
Thanks for letting us know…. we hope you enjoyed these tasty stuffed fish treats. Cheers! Kris
Why thaw and bake? These filets do beautifully in the microwave. I put them on a bed of green beans, top the filet with just a drizzle of olive oil (use small glass casserole dish),cover and zap. They come out incredibly moist this way!
YUM! What a great idea. I am going to try this next time! Cheers, Kristin
I wish all the recipes were on line… I bought 2 packages of these, and there were no directions.. so i called the Trader Joes, and they told me this… OVEN TEMP = 400 degree F, 15-20 as needed. Thanks
What a great idea! What did you think about the fish? Cheers, Kristin
How long do you heat the flounder in the over and at what themp.
Hello – I don’t have the package for reference, but one reader suggested OVEN TEMP = 400 degree F, 15-20 as needed. I hope this helps – Cheers- Kristin
