Trader Joe's Chicken Gyoza Potstickers

These tasty and easy to cook items are wonderful to have stashed in the freezer until you need them. They cook from frozen so they can be prepared last minute if, say your plans change and you are at home some night instead of going out. They are also easy to make, perfect for the beginner cook!

Trader Joe’s Chicken Gyoza Potstickers make fantastic and different “Game Food” too! We have been enjoying them while watching the World Cup! (OK—a fairly international snack as well, right?) But they would be just as tasty during, say a baseball game as well.

Trader Joe’s Chicken Gyoza Potstickers are delicious for the above mentioned reasons and so much more! We used to get Potstickers when we would go out to eat in Kansas City at one of our favorite Restaurants, Bo Lings. So you can imagine how excited we were to see a package of Potstickers in the freezer case at Trader Joe’s.

These are so easy to make, you just won’t believe it!

Heat a large non-stick pan with a lid over medium heat until hot. Then pour in a little olive oil and add the potstickers ( maybe 5 or so per person?). Let them brown up in the oil, say 5 minutes or so until the color on the flat side is nice and golden.

Next, add about ¼ cup of hot water to the pan and cover with the lid. Allow the potstickers to cook in the steam until fully heated, say 5 more minutes. (You might need to add more water if it evaporates before the potstickers are heated up, so pay attention the first time you cook these, just to make sure)

Yep! That is it! Now they are ready to serve.

We like to sprinkle the Potstickers with soy sauce or when we are feeling really creative, we make a little dipping sauce with soy sauce, sesame oil and some sliced green onions. YUM!

We hope you get a chance to try Trader Joe’s Chicken Gyoza Potstickers soon and not wait to discover them in the frozen case like we did.

Have you tried these Potstickers? What did you think?

Trader Joe's Macadamia Mix Gingerly with Cranberries & Almonds

Now, I know that this name is a bit strange. I actually did not notice how weird it was until I stopped to type it down for this post. You know how much we LOVE to eat trail mix and all kinds of nuts, right? Well I  guess I was only seeing the great ingredients when I picked up this package.

I mean, any nut lover would grab fast for a mixture that had macadamias, cranberries and almonds, right? But Trader Joe’s always goes the extra mile, and well, they added chunks of ginger to this mix!

Yes, you read that right! I think this is the first time I have purchased a Trail Mix/ Trek Mix that had chunks of spicy-sweet candied ginger in the package. YUMMZ!

As you can see from the photos (I am so amazed that we remembered to even take photos of this wonderful stuff 🙂 Trader Joe’s did not skimp on the ginger- there are tons of real large chunks of ginger in this mix. (the ginger was about the same size as the macadamia nuts- eeks!)

Don’t forget: This snack is Wheat Free too!

Trader Joe’s Pizza 4 Formaggi makes Pizza Magic

Trader Joe's Frozen Pizza

Trader Joe's Frozen Pizza

OR how to make leftover magic with a cheese pizza from Trader Joe’s!

Hey everyone! We had a pizza craving the other day and luckily had a frozen pizza from Trader Joe’s at the ready!

BUT instead of just heating and eating- which was the plan when we purchased this lovely pizza, we started to look at some of our leftovers and … well…. That is where the magic started.

We started by checking out all those little bottles in the fridge. You know the ones that have sun dried tomatoes, pesto and olives in them? They always sneak into the back in our fridge, so we started back there and brought them all onto the counter. Now we did not bring out any mustards (yes more than one…) but we did find a nice collection of olives (Trader Joe’s Kalamata) and a small amount of pesto (Trader Joe’s Pesto) to add to this pizza.

Next the vegetable drawer gave a donation of fresh spinach leaves and there even was some cooked broccoli that we chopped up to go on top.

Last, we found a nice piece of smoked Gouda cheese that we thought would go well with all the other flavors.

So what we really did to make this magical pizza was to place the frozen pizza on a foil lined pan, and spread some of the pesto, chopped olives, chopped broccoli and sliced spinach on top and then cover with thin slices of the cheese.

OK so this concoction was almost suffering from one too many flavors, but I must tell you that it really tasted FABULOUS! We were so happy that we had this Trader Joe’s cheese pizza around to pull together this crazy collection of leftovers, but WOW we just loved it.

So we really wanted to let you know that having a Trader Joe’s Pizza 4 Formaggi in your freezer is a great way to use up your leftovers!

3 Easy Father’s Day Breakfast Ideas

Are you looking for some easy Father’s Day breakfast ideas?  Here are a few of our favorite ideas for you to keep those Father’s happy.

1. Ranchero Breakfast

This is one of our favorite breakfasts and you can make it as simple or as complicated as you like. The ingredients can contain any of the following:

  • Eggs (cooked however you like)
  • Tortillas
  • Salsa/ Sour Cream/ Cheese
  • Cooked Chorizo
  • Black or Pinto Beans

We usually cook up two fried eggs and serve them with black beans and some soft, warm tortillas. On the side we have the salsa and sometimes sour cream and shredded cheese. Then we like to take some eggs, cheese and beans and roll it all up in one of the tortillas…. YUM!

2. Chocolate & Peanut butter Waffle Stackers

This one is quick and is also yummy! Start with two of your favorite Trader Joe’s frozen waffles per person. Heat them up according to package directions and then spread one with peanut butter. Sprinkle the peanut butter with some chocolate chips and top with the other hot waffle. The heat from the waffles should melt the chocolate chips. Serve with Maple syrup if you like…

3. Kielbasa and Eggs

Here again is a flexible and tasty breakfast that the whole family with enjoy. Cut a Kielbasa into 2 inch chunks, and then in half the long way (so it has a nice flat part to brown up on the stove). Then brown up the pieces in a pan until golden. The nice thing about Kielbasa is that they are already cooked so you only need to brown and heat them up when you want to serve. Also Trader Joe’s sells a Turkey Kielbasa so you can enjoy all the flavor, without all the fat that some other breakfast meats contain. Serve the browned Kielbasa with your favorite eggs (I love them with scrambled eggs) and toast.

We hope you enjoyed these ideas for a fabulous Father’s Day Breakfast. Let us know what you served.
